    At the Richmond Performing Arts Festival, we champion artistic excellence across music, dance, speech, and drama. Our festival has provided a platform for performers of all ages and abilities to showcase their talents and express their creativity since 1929. We believe in fostering a love for the arts in our community. We invite local schools, organizations, and individuals to participate in our festival, creating a vibrant tapestry of performances that reflect the diversity of Richmond.     Instructions

    All payments will be card only.

    Please attend at least 15 minutes before your class is timed to start and check in with the door stewards.

    A copy of all pieces chosen must be available for the adjudicator. These must be labelled with the following information: Name of performer, Title, Author, Source/Publisher

    The general public are admitted at a cost of £5.00 (all day.) Senior concessions £4.

    Teachers of those performing, accompanists, festival patrons and children under 16 are admitted free.

    If unable to attend please give as much notice as possible. Fees cannot be refunded.

    We are dedicated to nurturing emerging talent through workshops, mentorship programs, and performance opportunities. Our festival not only showcases established artists but also serves as a launching pad for the next generation of performers. Together, we cultivate a thriving arts scene.     Adjudicator - Frances Colyer

    Frances trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London (Teacher’s Diploma in Speech & Drama). She worked as an actress at the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, Palace Theatre Watford, & Cork Opera House, Eire. She has undertaken Theatre-in-Education work at the Cockpit Theatre and the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry.

    Frances has worked at the BBC as a presenter of the schools television programme “Merry Go Round” & BBC Radio programme “Discovery” and as a presenter/announcer for Border Television, Carlisle. Overseas posts include English language teaching in Padua & Rome, Italy and she was a Visiting Fellow in Drama at the University of West Indies, Barbados.

    She has recently retired from teaching speech & drama at Berkhamsted School and is still a LAMDA teacher and Speech adjudicator for The British & International Federation of Festivals for Music, Dance & Speech and an examiner for The English Speaking Board and a member of Equity & S.T.S.D.
