A Legacy of Excellence
Taking place each year from February to March, the Richmond-upon-Thames Performing Arts Festival is a much-loved annual celebration of music, dance, and drama. With over 2,000 participants, the Festival offers a unique platform for performers of all ages and abilities to showcase their talents, gain professional feedback, and grow in confidence.
Featuring both competitive and non-competitive classes for children, young people, and adults, the Festival creates a welcoming and supportive environment that nurtures creativity and performance skills. Whether you're new to the stage or an experienced performer, there’s a place for everyone.
We also warmly invite audience members to come and enjoy the excitement of live performance! For a modest entry fee, you’ll enjoy a variety of entertainment and help support local performers by providing a much-valued audience.
The arts are the heartbeat of any community, and since 1929, our Festival has proudly championed the artistic spirit of Richmond and beyond.

Multiple Sections
Engage in a variety of disciplines including orchestral instrument performance, piano, solo and choral singing, as well as speech and drama, and dance.
Festival Showcase
A special highlight takes place at the end of the festival, usually in June, at the Normansfield Theatre. This is dedicated to our winning young performers, allowing their talent to shine and inspire audiences with their creativity and passion.
