Premier awards 2008-

We would like to express our gratitude to our  sponsors for their generous support of the Piano & Instrumental  Sections :

 

Major Music Awards 

 

Young Pianist of the Year - Edith Steinitz prize of £100 and Hanna Classical Pianist Cup.

Young Instrumentalist of the Year - ABC Music prize of £100 and Cyril Kemplay Memorial Challenge Cup.

The winners of all the above major awards will be expected to perform at the Festival Showcase on May 9th 2008, when the awards will be presented by the Mayor of Richmond upon Thames. In default, the awards may be forfeited.

Concertos with the Richmond Orchestra - at the discretion of the adjudicator, the best instrumental concerto class performances will be nominated for rehearsal and/or performance opportunities with The Richmond Orchestra.

Very grateful thanks also to Mrs Frances Saville for her runners-up awards in the Piano Section every year.

In  THE VOCAL SECTION

J.H.  Stoakes Memorial trophy and  prize of £100 sponsored by  ABC MUSIC for the Young Singer of the Year -  

Music tokens sponsored by  KENSINGTON CHIMES MUSIC SHOP for the Senior and Junior  Recitals 

In the Stage Dance section

The  Young Dancer of the Year  - February 23rd    - Queen Charlotte Hall, RACC

  The  First prize will be  £200 with a runner-up prize of £50.   The winner will also receive a trophy donated by the Richmond Parish Lands Charity.

  4.    Young (Drama) Performer of the Year  - First Prize will again be £200 with a runner-up prize of £50.   These awards are sponsored by Patrons of the Festival.

  Conditions for entry to all of the above are given in the appropriate section.   There are also many other changes to the syllabus with some new classes, trophies and venues.   Please read these carefully and any queries should be made before the closing dates for entry to the appropriate section secretary

The winners of all  the above  major awards will be expected to perform at the Festival Concert on May 9th  when the awards will be presented by the Mayor of Richmond upon Thames (in default, the awards may be forfeited. ) PREVIOUS holders of the titles of Young Dancer and Young Performer WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR SELECTION TO THE FINALS  IN 2008 but previous 2nd placed performers are eligible.
