Composition

 

Good for GCSE & A Level music!

Any Age           Time limits 2-5 minutes            Fee £10.00 per composition

Compositions may be submitted for appraisal and report either in manuscript form or on disc. 

Thus section is primarily of relevance to GCSE and A level students for independent assessment of work in progress but composers of any age may enter work for advice and help.  This section is non-competitive, although grades will be given if requested and performance is not required.

William Morris is a freelance composer, musical director, educator and performer.  He has an MA in Composition for Film and Television with distinction and has recently been appointed Director of Music for the British Humanist Association, writing music for their ceremonies and special occasions.

He has received commissions across many varied media, including the award winning film Facing Mara (Native Voice Films), the BBC radio play The Glasshouse, and most recently the More4 documentary On That Day.  William has also been involved in collaboration projects such as with the artist , Fran Barrault, composing and performing a series of piano music to her images, Bridges of Light.

William has a successful private teaching practice and he also teaches at the Royal Ballet School
